These highly nutritious and yummy recipes, appropriate from 4 months, will leave your baby smacking their lips for more.
1. Baby Pureed Apples
You Will Need: Apples, Water, Blender, Ice Cube Trays, Freezer bags or bowls and peeler
How to prepare
*Peel off skin and cut the apples into quarters.
*Pour 250 ml of water into a pot and place the apples in it. Cover the pot and let it boil on a medium heat. After boiling, reduce heat to low and leave it to simmer until the apples are tender (be careful not to let them get mushy as this will drain away the flavour.)
*Bring out your blender or food processor while the apples cool off in the pot.
*Measure the apples and in batches pour into the blender or food processor, also scooping in some stock.
*Blend into a puree.
*Pour the puree into the ice cube trays or little freezer bowls, then freeze after cooling off.
To serve baby, depending on baby’s portion, take out 2 or 3 cubes, leave to thaw and heat up before serving baby.
Tip: Never leave frozen foods uncovered to avoid frosting. For example, put your ice cube tray in a freezer bag before placing it in the freezer.
