The now 14 year old Ese Oruru who was abducted by one Yinusa a customer of the child’s mother and taken to Kano for marriage under Islamic rites has been released to the Nigeria Police Force.
According to channels TV, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, has instructed that Ese be reunited with her family today, 1st of March, 2016.
The minor was released to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 1, Kano, Shuaibu Gambo, by the Kano Emirate Council and will soon be reunited with her family.
Her release followed a social media campaign, #freeEse where several Nigerians spoke up about the abominable behavior of Yinusa and the people protecting him.
