Man Who Allegedly Slit Wife’s Throat in Lagos Dies in Police Custody
Jafaru Sougie, the unemployed man who allegedly killed his wife after 26 years of marriage in their Oshodi residence and subsequently attempted suicide (read here) has died. He had slit the mother of five, Roseline Sougie’s throat with a knife over alleged infidelity in the early hours of May, 27, 2016, while she was sleeping and poisoned himself. He was however arrested and rushed to the hospital.
He reportedly died yesterday at the Police Hospital, Ikoyi, where he has been on admission since his arrest, leaving their poor children orphaned.

A police source told TheSun though Jafaru began regaining consciousness after days of receiving treatment from a team of medical experts, including psychiatrists and psychologists, he suffered a drastic weight loss since his arrest and was unable to eat.
Activist, Dr. Joe Odumakin confirmed this on Twitter and shared photos of his corpse.
