Drunk woman Drives With Lifeless Body Lodged in Front of Her Car After Hit & Run
On Monday, a woman allegedly hit and killed a pedestrian in her car then drove a mile with the victim lodged in the front seat after a marathon night of drinking with her friends.
According to NBC news, at around 6.20am, the 29-year-old woman, Esteysi ‘Stacy’ Sanchez was driving home after a wild night of drinking in California, and collided with a 69-year-old pedestrian.
Because the woman was travelling at high speeds, the man allegedly hit the windscreen and broke through the glass, lodging himself in the front passenger seat.
When she hit the man, his leg detached from his body and flew through the back window, landing on the trunk of the car.
When she got near her home, Sanchez ditched her car and walked the rest of the way, according to police.
Neighbours say she was screaming as she got out of the vehicle.
One witness said he was outside changing the oil in his car when he witnessed the crash. He said it was like a scene out of a movie.
“There’s no words to really describe it. I mean, just seeing that up close and personal, it’s kind of traumatising in a way,” Edwin Esparza said.
Another man said he didn’t want to come outside Monday morning because he could tell it would be a graphic and disturbing scene.
Lou Torres said: “Horrific. Yeah I’ve never in my whole life have I heard a story like this. It was so strange that I couldn’t imagine any scenario that would cause this.”
Sanchez reported the incident to her boyfriend after she got home, who then called the police, according to the report.
She was arrested after she confessed to driving while intoxicated.
The police statement says: “Based on statements obtained from Sanchez and preliminary tests in the field, it was determined she was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.”
She has been charged with felony Driving Under the Influence and vehicular manslaughter.
Police have not released the victim’s name but he is believed to have been a known ‘transient’ in the area – a homeless man.
