US Father And 11-Year-Old Son Killed In Nice Terror Attack
Sean Copeland, a 51-year-old dad, and his 11-year-old son, Brodie, were among the victims of the Nice terror attack, Mirror reports.
Sources say the father and son had travelled to France for a family holiday from their home in Austin, Texas, US, along with Brodie’s mother, Kim, and his two siblings.
But the pair were killed when a terrorist, now identified as French-Tunisian Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, drove a truck of explosives and grenades through the crowds celebrating Bastille Day.
Touching tributes were paid to the pair on Facebook this morning, according to reports.
One of the tributes read, “My heart aches right now. Lost a really good friend and his son in the Nice, France terror attack. Please pray for the Copeland family. Especially for Kim, Austin and Meghan as they witnessed the horrible tragedy but were able to get out of harms way.”

Another read, “I’m in complete shock! Some of the best people I’ve had the privilege to know. You will definitely be missed Sean and Brodie. Kim, I do not have the words nor know what you are going through. I’m truly sorry for your loss.”
The 51-year-old was described as an “awesome father” to his three kids, while his son was praised as a talented baseball player who will be fondly remembered.
A photo of Brodie playing in the ocean, likely taken just hours before his death, was posted on Facebook by the local youth baseball league known as Hill Country Baseball.
It was captioned with the touching message, “This evening we would like to ask that the HC family keep the Copelands in your prayers … our very own Brodie Copeland, as well as his father Sean Copeland, were killed during the terrorist attack in Nice, France.
“This photo was sent to me earlier today from the French Riviera…Nobody deserves this type of fate, especially not such a wonderful family. You are in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. Rest in peace, Brodie and Sean, you will be remembered by many.”
The death toll from the attack has risen to at least 84, including 10 children, Mirror reports.
