Ghanaian Bride Speaks Up After Receiving Backlash For Wearing Sneakers To Her Wedding
These photos of a Ghanaian bride wearing sneakers with her wedding gown went viral on the Internet last week. Her choice of footwear did not sit well with some people, who said her red sneakers were a deep contrast with her white wedding dress.
The Ghanaian bride, identified as Vera Ewura Obeng, recently took to her Facebook page to explain why she chose a pair of red sneakers over conventional shoes. She wrote that as a wedding photographer for six years, she had observed firsthand the discomfort brides suffer in conventional heels and did not want to repeat their mistakes.

What is the point in wearing heels to church and remove it during reception? I just don’t get it. If you want heels wear it through out the event. I wore mine for 9 hours. I see Brides complaining about the heels all the time. It even doesn’t make my photos nice …

And for my dress, I just don’t get the bit where I spend thousands of mahama cedis on a dress I can’t wear again.. “I just can’t think far”. Invite me to your baby christening and I will gladly come in it. For me this was my dream wedding, if you choose to wear a heel as tall as me, at the end of the day, its all about our choices.

She’s my kinda woman. Heaven knows am not wearing anything heel on my wedding day. I would either wear a sandals, slippers or even sneakers like she did. Must everyone follow the conventional way? People should do what suits them and not mind What some clueless people have to say.
She’s right it’s all about choices. It’s not all about the beauty of the wedding but the marriage. Heels or not the wedding was successful
Hmmmmm
people must to talk……It’s her choice…….

Its all about creativity, as an artist. She looks good in it, besides, she have clearly explained why she chose to dress the way she did. Trust me, you’ll see people copying her these days.
