‘Yes, I know the Boko Haram boys’ – Aisha Wakil And Others Declared Wanted Speak Up

According to a statement signed by Colonel Sani K. Usman, the Acting Director, Army Public Relations, the Nigerian Army on the 14th of  August declared Ahmed Salkida (Ambassador), Ahmed U. Bolori and Aisha Wakil (Mama Boko Haram) wanted.

This is coming after Boko Haram released a video featuring some of the secondary school girls who were kidnapped from their school in Chibok, Borno in 2014.

These three have been declared wanted as they are suspected to have relevant information that can lead the Nigerian military to the exact location of the girls. The Army said its action is based on relevant laws.

“They must… come forward and tell us where the group is keeping the Chibok Girls and other abducted persons to enable us to rescue them. We are relying on the relevant laws of the land and in particular the Terrorism Prevention Act 2011 (as amended), where Nigerians could be punished for failure to disclose information about terrorists or terrorist activities.

“This becomes necessary as a result of their link with the last two videos released by Boko Haram terrorists and other findings of our preliminary investigations,” the statement read in part.

Hours after they were declared wanted, Mama Boko Haram, Bolori who is a lawyer, surrendered to the military.

In a Facebook by Dr. Emman Shehu of the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja,  Aisha Alkali Wakili, reportedly wrote:

”I am Aisha Alkali Wakili

I understand that the military declared me, Ahmed Silkida and Ahmed Bolori wanted for having links with Boko Haram. It’s interesting, now they believe me?

I know the Boko Haram boys. I have been in front fighting for peace long before Chibok girls were kidnapped. Nigerian security knows me too well, I’m not shady. Why declaring me wanted?

I have had meetings with Chief of Army staff & his people. I told them the way forward, to allow me come with some commanders of Boko Haram and discuss with them, present the release of CBGs but they chose to do things their own ways only and never gave considerations to any of my suggestions.

I want to inform the Nigerian people of my innocence and make them realise that I am in constant relation with the security personnel and they know where to find me but wonder why I had to be declared wanted on national news even mentioning my husband’s name alongside.

This has put my immediate and extended family under a lot of pressure and I do not deserve this from the Nigerian government.

Though they may not appreciate all my efforts to profer peaceful solutions to the menace of bh, my name should not be mudslinged nor my character defamed.

Thank you

Aisha Alkali Wakil.”

Meanwhile, the third person declared wanted with them, Ahmed Salkida, said he was also ready to give himself up, but asked for a ticket from the military to facilitate his return home from his Dubai base.
