FAMILY RECIPE: Sweet Potato & Broccoli Porridge

Here’s another absolutely yummy sweet potato pottage my family loves so much. Of course, you can replace the broccoli with any other vegetables of your choice. It is nutritious and easy to make. Try it out this weekend.

Ingredients
1 cup yam (peeled and chopped)
2 medium size sweet potatoes (peeled and chopped into bite sizes)
1 tomato (chopped)
1 onion (chopped)
1 cup fresh broccoli (chopped)
250 g smoked fish (broken into bits)
Seasoning
Bay leaf
Half deciliter palm oil (about 6-7tbsp)

How to prepare
In a cooking pot, put fish, onion, bay leaf and some seasoning
Add a little water and cover to cook for 5 minutes on a medium heat
Stir in tomatoes and cover to cook for 3 minutes
Add yam and sweet potatoes
Add some water if need be
Cover to cook until they are slightly tender
Add broccoli and allow to cook for 5-6minutes. Adjust seasoning to taste
Stir in palm oil and serve warm.
