7 Simple Remedies For Your Stretch Marks
Ineh Olisah
Stretch marks are quite common among women, and are mostly found on the waist, thighs, arms, lower back, tummy (especially during and after pregnancy), buttocks, hips and breasts. If you’re currently battling these natural ugly marks, here are a few remedies you should try out…
1. Water. Adequate water intake is important to keep your skin properly hydrated, supply needed nutrients and oxygen to promote skin health as well as eliminate wastes from skin pores. Some experts therefore say improving your hydration habits may prevent or improve the appearance of your stretch marks.
2. Vitamin K. This aids the prevention of scars on the skin. It can be found in green vegetables such as cucumber, cabbage and spring onions. Consuming these regularly, perhaps on a daily basis, is said to improve skin elasticity and aid fading out stretch marks.
3. Exercise. Simple exercises which tone the muscles such as swimming may also help. It also helps to do lots of stretching exercises. For pregnant women, doing stretching exercises before, during and after pregnancy may help prevent or reduce the appearance of stretch marks.

5. Exfoliate with sugar. Add a few drops of almond oil and lemon juice to a tablespoon of sugar. Stir properly, apply on affected parts and rub for 8-10 minutes before taking a shower. Doing this continuously for a month is said to be effective at fading out stretch marks.
6. Potato juice. You may also rub a slice of potato gently on the stretch marks for a few minutes. Allow juice to dry on stretch marks and wash with lukewarm water. This is said to aid restoration and growth of skin cells.
7. Aloe vera is also said to be effective. Apply directly on affected parts daily for few minutes, leave to dry and rinse with lukewarm water.
Applying castor oil, cocoa butter and olive oil to affected parts is also said to be effective.
