Will Your Body Ever Look Like It Did Pre-Pregnancy? How To Get There
For the modern or new-age mothers, or expectant mothers-to-be, one plaguing question on their minds, amidst the excitement of having a new born, is the question of getting back in shape or snapping back or fitting into your pre-pregnancy pair of jeans.
One also has to consider what your body was like before pregnancy. These days, it’s sometimes difficult to tell who’s a mum and who isn’t as mums are no longer slacking with their bodies.
It is important to understand, pregnancy leaves you with some scarring that you can never ever get rid off. Internally and externally. We can’t really see what happens inside our bodies all the time, so we would just focus on the external bit.
Here are 3 things that can help you snap back to your pre-pregnancy body soon enough.
1. Mental Stimulation
It is a long old saying, “it took 9 months to change, it will take another 9 months to snap back”. Most people don’t always adhere or listen to this! Your body changed in nearly over a year, you need to prepare your self that it might take you that same amount of time to get back and lose all the weight and extra flesh. Don’t feel discouraged if you notice someone else “snapping” back faster than you. Bodies vary and every woman has her own unique one.
2. Exercise
As fit as the world is now, a lot of Nigerian women still haven’t adjusted to it. You need to exercise before pregnancy, during pregnancy and after. Exercise! It’s stressful, tiring and time consuming. It’s a worthy sacrifice. Start today if you haven’t, the great thing is you don’t even need to go to the gym. Light exercises like walking, jogging, jumping jacks, dancing. The key is to get your heart rate up, increasing your metabolism which helps to burn excess fat. Start today, it cant be stressed enough.
3. A Healthy Diet
This is probably the most important of them all as you are going to be nursing. Nursing helps with “snapping back” but you also need to eat a healthy balanced diet, cutting away excess fatty foods, processed foods and sodas! Especially sodas!
