Are you thinking its too late to achieve your dreams? The story of Amy Craton, will reshape your thoughts.
Amy Craton, a 94 year old great grand mother, celebrated receiving her college degree, last week, with a perfect grade point average of 4.0.
Craton, had to put her education on hold in 1962 following her divorce which prompted her to raise her four children on her own and also take care of the home front.
Today, reports that:
Craton, who is confined to a wheelchair and impaired of hearing, decided to return to school through an online program, Southern New Hampshire University offered.
Craton, earned her Bachelor of Arts in creative writing and English, is said to be the school’s oldest graduate, and university officials believe she may be one of the oldest students in the nation.
“It feels good to graduate, to finish that part of my life, but I feel that I’m still on the road, I have much more to learn.”
Crayton, who doesn’t regret a single moment stated that her biggest challenge in returning to school wasn’t the coursework but the six-hour time difference between Hawaii and New Hampshire. To get her assignments in on time, Craton, often stayed up until the wee hours of the morning.
“I’m trying to live my life to the fullest, I couldn’t see just sitting there watching Netflix all the time. If you’re thinking about going back to school, do it, You’ll open up a whole new life, Crayton said.”
