83 Year Old Woman Celebrates 65th Wedding Anniversary in her 1952 Wedding Gown & She Still Looks Stunning!

Maintaining one’s physique after child birth always seems a bit challenging. The story of a Texan woman Ruthie McCoy, who celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary by wearing her wedding gown from 1952 will inspire you.

Not only could she still fit into her wedding dress, her love for her husband has remained constant over the years, and that too is a  major inspiration.

Her husband Tom McCoy, while speaking with Today, said when he saw his wife in her wedding gown, it brought back a lot of memories. 88-year-old Tom said:

“It took me back to the very first time I saw her. She was in an all-white dress then. She looked like a little angel. I found out after I married her that she is an angel.”

Ruthie chipped in with a grin on her face saying, “I pay him to say that.” Tom, who met his wife through a church group in the 1950’s said, ‘the second time I saw her I brought her an engagement ring.’

The wedding anniversary was celebrated during a monthly gathering where Bible school members celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Friends and families were stunned to see Ruthie, in her wedding dress looking so divine.

The couple who has three children, also shared some advice for people curious to know the secret to such a long-lasting relationship. Tom opened up saying:

“First, we recognize each other as being individuals. We don’t think alike, we don’t always agree on everything, but we do not argue about it we discuss it.

I recognize the fact that she has her own way of thinking and I respect that. And I have my own way and she does the same thing.

It has worked very well for us. I just decided to let her do the talking, but I reserve the right to get the last word. And that last word would be, (yes, dear).”
