Lionel Messi Weds Childhood Sweetheart Antonella Roccuzzo – PHOTOS

The acclaimed “world’s greatest footballer,” Lionel Messi married his childhood sweetheart, Antonella Roccuzzo, yesterday in a lavish Argentinian ceremony.

According to Dailymail, More than 250 friends and family – including some of football’s biggest names – jetted to Argentina, to watch the sports star get married at the plush hotel complex.

Even though it was a happy occassion, an alleged family feud threatened to overshadow the day.

It was gathered that a suspected family rift threatened the couple’s day as Messi’s Aunt claimed on National Tv that she wasn’t invited to the wedding and Messi’s Mum was the reason for that.

Messi’s family dismissed reports of a feud between the families as nonsense. A friend of the star said the relationship between the families is really good as they get on really well and that’s why they are getting married today.

The couple, who have known each other for 25 years and have two sons, banned mobile phones at the event. Staff were also sworn to secrecy and 450 police officers were drafted in for the big day. Female guests were reportedly encouraged to bring three dresses to avoid clashes or repeats of clothes, or even colours and textures, while male guests were told to go along with three different types of shirts.

Messi and Antonella took their wedding vows with eldest son Thiago sitting inches in front of them. After the couple were pronounced man and wife, Messi, wearing a blue Armani suit, kissed his bride before caressing Thiago’s hair.

And in a surprise moment for Antonella, Messi arranged for an Argentinian singer, Abel Pinto to play her favorite song without her knowledge. Title of the song is ‘Sin Principio ni final’ which means ‘Without Beginning or End’.
