Dear MIMsters: Should I Quit This Marriage or Keep Believing God for Babies?
I am confused and in need of genuine advice on this issue that has kept restless. Should I quit this marriage or keep believing God for my babies? What would you do if you were in my shoes?
I’ve been married for the past 13 years without a child. It was diagnosed that my partner’s semen is not adequate enought to make a baby.
We have tried to treat it through both medical and herbal approaches but without any success. So, I suggested we try IVF. He said he has no money for IVF. Then, I suggested adoption, he bluntly refused.

Lately, I have discovered that he has chains of female friends who are both married and unmarried. The painful part is that he is dating a very close friend of our family who is married.
Despite all these, he beats and calls me all manners of names at the slightest provocation.
I have put up with this by staying with him because I feel like I owe him. He was the one who sponsored my University education, so I have endured all his abuses and maltreatments.
He doesn’t seem to be bothered by the fact that we have no children. Instead, what he’s most concerned about is making submissive to all his commands.
He returns home late all the time, making me lonely, unhappy and frustrated. I don’t know how to convince him again to see this issue the way I’m seeing it.
I have complained both to his parents and mine but nothing has changed . How do I handle this situation? Should I quit this marriage or keep believing God for my babies? What would you do if you were in my shoes?
Could have suggested separation from him ,cos he doesn’t exhibit characteristic of a responsible husband. May be he will change his ways .secondly nobody knows the future if u try marrying another husband that might even be worse.later on he might be able to treat himself n still father children with other younger women which might be too late for u cos of menopause. If u don’t money for ivf.since u r graduate, u can still save for iui its cheaper ard 200k.only that u might have to use donor semen if he is OK with him.u go ahead n do it n have ur children.separate from him first. If he come begging then give him d option of iui.if he doesn’t agree look for another husband.
I think you have paid enough for the university education, 13 years of slavery is enough. Kindly quit.
Having babies will only further tie you in that unhappy marriage. Woman it is time to take the bull by the horn and leave that marriage please. Quit, just quit now.
if he is beatn u walk away
