Grieving Alexandra Burke Shares Advice Late Mum, Melissa Bell Gave Her
Superstar Alexandra Burke lost her mother, Mellisa Bell some days back. Her mother was the famous lead singer of Soul 11 Soul and she passed away suddenly at 53 (read here). It was a huge loss for the singer as her mum was her greatest support.
Bell had been battling with Diabetes,and died from complications on September 2, 2017.
Taking to Twitter to announce the death of her mother, Alexandra Burke, U X-Factor winner, tweeted;
“It is with the heaviest and saddest of hearts that the family inform you our beautiful, funny and loving mum, Melissa Bell has passed away.

Thankfully, Alexander Burke has the perfect distraction from her grief as she has been selected to be a contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, and she is determined to succeed.
And in order to do so, Alexandra Burke has revealed she ‘cancelled everything’ including her album to dedicate her schedule to the dancing competition.
Speaking ahead of her Strictly debut, the singer, 29, explained her decision to do so had been inspired by a few pearls of wisdom her late mother, Melissa Bell, 53, had given her.
She said:
‘The moment I found out that I was going to take part in Strictly, I cancelled everything. I cancelled my album, my single, recording, everything.

My mum always said to me, “Be great at one thing and the rest will follow.”
When I was doing X Factor, she made me stop dancing and acting and said acting will follow – eight years later, acting followed with The Bodyguard and Sister Act so she wasn’t wrong!’
Alexandra continued:
‘The she said to me dancing will follow, of course I dance in videos and stuff, but now it’s followed. My dream has followed, the three things I love more than anything in the world is singing, dancing and acting… here I am doing one of the three things I love.’
Alexandra has been open about her struggles coping with the loss of her mum. She told fans she is trying to stay strong as she struggles to cope with her tragic loss. In an emotional message shared to Twitter, Alexandra said:

‘Just wanted to take a moment and say thank you to all of those who have sent such loving messages to myself and the family.
‘It all feels unreal but I’m trying my best to stay strong. I miss my mummy so much.’
We are sure Alexandra will come out on top because she is a fighter and knows how to win.
She will definitely win. May her mom’s soul continue to rest.
