1. Stretch Marks
This could easily be the most common skin manifestation during pregnancy. They are either dark or light bands or stripes that appear as the skin stretches to accommodate your stretching tummy. Very few women can claim not to have experience them during pregnancy. They usually appear on the thighs, buttock, chest and arms or anywhere.
Fix: They can also be phased out with creams/ lotions that contain alpha-hydroxil acid. Exercises also help. They also sometimes never leave and fade with time as you lose weight.
2. Acne, Pimples & Blackheads
These breakouts are caused directly or indirectly by changes in hormonal levels. For instance, androgen, a male hormone that increases in women during pregnancy, causes an increase in the production of sebum, a skin oil. This increase blocks the skin pores thereby leading to the formation of blackheads.
Fix: Don’t burst a pimple! These breakouts usually clear themselves after child birth. Use a cleanser with alpha-hydroxil acid or Salycilic- acid in it.
3. Angiomas
These are also called spider Angiomas because of the way they look. They are a series of dilated blood vessels that spread from one spot such that they look like spider legs. They appear on the face, chest arms or abdomen.
Fix: Like acne and pimples, these will clear after pregnancy so worry not. If, however, you want to worry, you can try chasing them off with expensive laser treatments, if you can afford it.
4. Chloasma (Mask of Pregnancy)
This can be recognized when parts of the facial skin get darker as a result of direct exposure to the sun. It makes the facial skin look like it has different colours
Fix: This issue also clears out after pregnancy as your hormones balance out. Some of these conditions however, can get stubborn and will only clear out using chemical peels or bleaching lotions. If you want to prevent it, try using sun screen lotions whenever you step out into the sun.

5. Rashes
These appear as bumps or patches of bumps on the abdomen, arms, breasts, thighs and buttocks. They itch like crazy.
Fix: Clear or control them with topical steroids and anti-itching topical medications.
6. Hairy Situations
Some pregnant women may start to lose hair during pregnancy while others start to grow light moustaches and beards. This is one of the freak effects of changing hormonal levels.
Fix: It’s usually nothing to worry about, though it could take up to six months after pregnancy to return back to normal i.e. hair restoration or hair removal.
