Her elated proud sister, Leanne took to her social media page to share the story;
“Today, my sister with severe autism, graduated from high school. People constantly said because she can’t talk she wouldn’t be able to, but we learn something new about her everyday & she continues to teach us anything is possible.

Following her post, a commenter who congratulated Leanne’s younger sister asked if the autistic girl will retain the knowledge she gained in school…
”Very proud of your sister. Let me ask a stupid question: Does she retain the knowledge she has gained in school? Can she make use of this knowledge? I have a family member who is in similar circumstances. ❤”
And Leanne replied;
”She does retain the information with repetition, but some stuff she still has difficulty retaining. Just takes time though!”
According to Wikipedia, autism is a developmental disorder characterized by troubles with social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior.
A person living with this disorder finds it hard to adapt to the normal learning environment and can only thrive with special attention.
This is why this beautiful young woman’s story is an inspiration, another reason to believe in the impossible!
She’s a champion. Congratulations to her!
