Muslim Students Protest Over Hijab Wearing at International School Ibadan (ISI)
Following the protest on to wear or not to wear hijab at The International School Ibadan (ISI), the school has been closed until further notice.
The atmosphere in the school had been tensed for weeks following this face-off between the parents and the school management’s insistence of ‘no student would be allowed to wear hijab within the school premises’.
It became necessary to close down the school over the refusal of the Muslim parents to comply despite the resolution of the Governing Board of the school on the wearing of hijabs on school uniforms. As such, the school is currently under lock and key, and students have been asked to go home.
