“The Fact That Mothers Lived Through A Lot Quietly Doesn’t Mean They Enjoyed It”- Twitter User Charges Fellow Men
A Nigerian man on Twitter has charged his fellow men to engage their mothers in discussions, instead of assuming that they were happy despite having lived quietly through much denial.
Nigerian Twitter is where it all goes down when it comes to debates that challenge our lopsided customs as regards women and their place in family and society. Daily on the app, there’s a different voice starting a conversation that deserves to be heard by all of us.

Twitter user @AndyMadaki raised another candid point when he tweeted on possible unfair expectations of women.
“Boys should have more conversations with their mothers. Fact that mothers lived through a lot quietly doesn’t mean they enjoyed most of what they went through. Before you go and give someone’s daughter hell in the name of my mother didn’t mind.”

He advised men to speak with their mothers about how they truly felt about their experiences before they conclude that living through so much self-denial quietly, translates to enjoying it, and therefore expecting every woman they come across to endure hell for the same reason.
