Woman And In-laws At War For Giving Birth Through A Cesarean Section
The stigmatisation that is attached to cesarean section in Nigeria is robbing one mother of the full joys of the arrival of her newborn after a successful CS surgery, as her in-laws have reportedly accused her of straying.

The line of thought that non-vaginal birth is a taboo of sorts is not uncommon in Nigeria, many woman are at risk of maternal mortality for fear of stigmatisation, and there are actual recorded deaths from women who refused medical intervention in form of a CS at delivery.
According to her in-laws, the recent C-section she had for her last child suggests she might have committed adultery, and is now required to perform some traditional rites to prove her innocence.
