After Mum’s Murder, Heartbroken Nigerian Singer, Melisa Whiskey, Bids Deceased Mum Farewell In Emotional Post
A hardworking Nigerian mum, Mrs Abimbola Olusola has been killed in a most unfair manner by disgruntled staff members of her hotel. Mrs Olusola who is the mum of Nigerian born, London based singer Melisa Whiskey, was killed alongside the manager of her hotel, Mr Tunji Omikunle, who recently became a father to a set of twins, on January 24th.
According to the police, Olusola who lived in London for 35 years, returned to Nigeria in 2018 and set up a hotel by March of same year, Etashol Hotel and Suites, on Budland Street in the Ojodu Berger area of Lagos State.
Olusola and her manager, Omikunle had recently discovered that some of their employees had defrauded the company of money running into millions. They were handed over to the police and sacked afterwards. Last Thursday, the aggrieved workers and some other staff still in the employment of the hotel, conspired to kill Mrs Olusola and Omikunle.
The suspects allegedly deactivated the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras on the premises of the hotel, dragged the manager into a toilet, where his hands and feet were tied. Tunji was strangled, after which the suspects proceeded to Olusola’s room in the hotel and strangled her too.
The 12-year-old brother of Melisa who resided with their mum in the hotel, found her remains when he went to her room to check on her before leaving for school.
The police at the Ojodu Abiodun Police Station were alerted and the case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, where one of the workers is reportedly being interrogated.
