Singer, Simi Drags Popular Pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo, Following His Controversial Sermon On Women, Men & Sex | He Replies
Music star, Simi is not one to shy away from what she believes in. The Nigerian singer went head to head with popular Nigerian pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo after the pastor shared a sermon about sexual responsibility with claims that God made men more free-spirited than women.
While speaking to his members, Pastor Okonkwo of David Christian Centre said women are more emotionally mature than men and from a very young age, women already know what they want, whereas men at the same age are only thinking of football and sex.
According to him, women have been placed with the responsibility to deny men sex until they commit by marrying them, adding that men were created by God to be emotionally weak and also given a lot of sexual passion.
He continued by saying that women are sabotaging themselves by giving free sex out to men and that is the reason why men have refused to get married to them.
Kingsley Okonkwo said in a video uploaded on his official Instagram.
”Women need to understand that men are not emotionally developed as they are, women know what they want from childhood. The average teenage girl has dreams of how her wedding will be. Men as teenager is just playing ball, he has no dreams of settling down.
He wants sex, men want sex not relationship. God put so much sexual passion in men, expecting that women will obey him by doing access denied, so that if he wants so much sex he should marry. So, he will give you what you want, you will give him what he wants.
That was how God planned it, but many women have been sabotaging themselves. So you have been giving it out to people that didn’t put a ring on it. This is why we have so many single people because a lot of guys are sexually satisfied.
Men enjoy sex with more people, than with one person. So, you are messing up and sabotaging yourself by giving out free sex. If you do national lock up, these men will marry.”

The problem began when male followers jumped on the comment section and saw Pastor Kingsley’s message as an excuse for their lack of self-control.
A follower with the handle @lekanrubber, in his comment, took advantage of Pastor Kingsley’s message to make a case for men who ask women for sexual favours before they do anything for them. Hiding under the cover that the message provided, the follower pushed responsibility for men’s action to the women.
Seeing, this, Simi replied under the comment by @lekanrubber and told Pastor Kingsley that the problem with his preaching is that it causes men to think and act like @lekanrubber.
She was infuriated by the fact that the pastor’s sermon appeared to justify why men cheat or have several sexual partners. She told him that he was placing sole responsibility on the women while excusing men’s lack of self-control.
In addition, Simi said the message is infuriating and that everyone should be held responsible for their own actions.
”Everyone is responsible for their actions. Women are not donkeys to be carrying everyone’s burden. Women make mistakes too. Women get tempted too. Women fight their battles too.
And women are responsible for their own actions. Might as well say God made women more emotionally vulnerable because God expected men to not take advantage of them. It’s just wrong.
See Also@kingsleypst sir you know your message (and not just this one) has put responsibility on women, if not completely, then mostly. Just be careful please. As a pastor, a lot of people take your word for it, even though as Christians we all have access to God and His word the same. But you have this responsibility, please be careful with it.
Even the comment beneath mine saying he understands from your comment that women should leave a life free of sexual sin and if a man wants her enough, he’ll commit to her”. Sigh. Marriage is not a reward for good behavior.
See, I’m even tired. I’ve seen some of your sermons. I usually like how candid and down to earth you are but this offends me. And I’ve gotten it off my chest. Peace.”

And pastor Kingsley replied, saying his message doesn’t demean one sex. In a follow up post, he referred to Simi and other women who were opposed to his post as “freedom fighters” and said he doesn’t have the patience to entertain them so he blocks them.
“My message is quite clear… It hasn’t demeaned or but [sic] responsibility on just one sex. I can’t interpret for everyone.
