Three months ago, the top actress reacted to the trending news that she is pregnant with her first child. Toyin Abraham who is reportedly in a blooming relationship with fellow actor Kolawole Ajeyemi reacted when a loyal fan asked why she has posted no recent photos in weeks.
According to the fan, the news is viral that Abraham is pregnant, she then asked to know if this is the reason there have been no new photos but throw backs. The actress had responded that she is not pregnant yet but can’t wait to be.
”I claim it,” she said, debunking the news.
Kolawole Ajeyemi has been in the Yoruba Nollywood movie industry for as long as Abraham herself and also has a teen daughter from previous relationship.
Miss Abraham was formerly married to fellow actor Adeniyi Johnson before the two parted ways following rumours of infidelity. The marriage produced no child.
Niyi moved on with actress Seyi Edun, while Toyin has been linked to producer Seun Egegbe. The two ended things in a very messy way before Egbegbe was arrested for theft.
With the increasing rate at which women crossing the age of 30 years are being shamed to get pregnant especially after marriage, it is necessary for the actress to address this issue.
Just like Nse Ikpe -Etim who revealed she had faced several backlash for not getting pregnant since she got married to her husband, she had to announce that she removed her womb to live a normal life.
The Nollywood superstar made this revelation at an event in Lekki, Lagos, ahead of the release of a new movie, tagged, ‘Conversation with Nse’, where she bared her heart out to the her fans and the teeming audience. She said;
“I was told I couldn’t have kids. And so, I had to have a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) to make me have a life again and to stop going through what I was going through.
And I’m literarily telling women and men, it really doesn’t matter if you can’t bear children. What really matters is what you would do for the world, for the universe.”
