Glory Edozien is the founder of Inspired by Glory Academy, where she teaches career women how to become visible in the workplace so they can get the recognition they deserve, earn more money and climb the corporate ladder.
Glory is an alumni of the Global Shapers, an initiative of World Economic Forum and has been listed as one of Nigeria’s 100 most inspiring women.
Meanwhile, the beautiful young woman didn’t start out as the confident and powerful woman that she is today. Something happened 12 years ago that set the confidence coach on the path of discovering herself.

”About 12 years ago, I didn’t want to be Glory anymore. I wanted to be anyone but this girl with so many problems. So I decided to end it all. At midnight, I went to the express way and stood, ready to jump into the path of any fast speeding vehicle.

I screamed at God! “Why are you doing this to me” “Why have you left me all by myself” “Why won’t you answer any of my prayers”. After much screaming and no replies, I found my way back to my flat and cried myself to sleep.
A few weeks later I was advised to go and see a counselor. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. With her help I saw that for a very long time I was fighting to be someone else. I was looking for validation from everywhere but myself.
So I started to find myself. That was when I discovered I could write. I threw myself into it and found my self hired as the first features editor of @bellanaijaonline. I loved this Glory. The one who loves to eat, who has a loud bellowing laugh and cries at the drop of a hat.

Everyday I find something amazing about her and I OWN IT. I own her accomplishments and even her weaknesses. God has a sense of humor doesn’t He?
This is one of the reason I started the Inspired by Glory Academy. I NEVER want another woman to feel the way I felt that day. I never want her to doubt her abilities and talents and be so incapable of seeing the multitude of amazingness buried in her.

So you see when I talk about #visibility it’s not just for the gram. There is a deeper sense of mission and drive because I have been there. Feeling like an imposter, worried I will not be good enough, not even knowing why I should be visible. LOL! Imagine!!!!”
