Expectant Mum-of-Three/Actress, Mercy Johnson Explains How Being A Parent Has Influenced Her Movie Roles
Soon-to-be mum-of-four, Mercy Johnson has revealed she is done taking on some roles in movies. When Mercy first got into Nollywood, she was a force to reckon with, and her ability to take on any role no matter how scandalous, endeared her to many people. However, times have changed for the mum-of-three with one on the way.
She revealed this in a recent interview with Goldmynetv at the premier of her directorial debut movie, Legend of Inikpi. According to the expectant mum, she made some choices in the past that she isn’t proud of.

She stated, however, that her sense of judgement has now heightened with age and that she can no longer act sexually suggestive roles or do romantic scenes as she is now answerable to many people, and is definitely no longer as daring as she was as a single.
She said:
âWhen I do that, what would the younger girls do? When you grow past a certain level, you try to go ahead and do better. For me, you donât need people to tell you whatâs right or wrong.
Age is telling on me. Iâve grown past that level, Iâm answerable to too many people: my husband, my kids.
I hate to embarrass them in any way. My daughter is growing. She gets hold of my phone sometimes, begins to google, and goes like, âMum, my friends saidâŚâ And theyâre very inquisitive.
I donât think itâs (playing unclad scenes) something I want to do to make my kids question me in any way or have something in their mind that they want to ask and they canât.”
Only a short while ago, the talented actress and her husband, Prince Odianosen Okojie, revealed they were expecting their fourth child together. The actress took to her Instagram page to share the good news as she and her husband posed together holding a photo from their scan.
In her post, Mercy Johnson wrote:
“Weâre having a baby â¤ď¸â¤ď¸ Iâve always wanted 4 kids…. always. However, after 3 kids, I thought I had retired from the baby-making business.”Â
