Coronavirus: Lagos State Government Issues Notice To All AMVCA Attendees To Self-Isolate After Attendee Tests Positive
The Lagos commissioner for health, Prof. Akin Abayomi has asked everyone who attended the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) 2020 held on Saturday, March 14, to observe strict self-isolation as they may have come in contact with a person who has tested positive for the Coronavirus.
He further urged the attendees to contact health workers at the sign of any Coronavirus-related symptoms. This is coming an attendee flew into the country from the UK- a red zone of the raging Coronavirus.

The man who mingled freely was forced to surrender himself for testing after a friend of his threatened to expose him. He was thereafter taken into quarantine after he attended the AMVCA, and may have now been confirmed to be positive for the virus.
Abayomi tweeted:
#COVID19 Lagos Alert! I hereby notify you that all participants at the African Magic viewers’ Choice Award (AMVCA) held on14th March at @EkoHotels may have come in contact with one of the confirmed cases in Lagos and are most likely to have been exposed to #COVID19 Infection.
He added:
”Attendees at the said event are therefore advised to:
observe strict self- isolation.

This comes days after Twitter users raised alarm that a person who returned from the UK and showed symptoms of Coronavirus had attended the Award ceremony.
