#JusticeForUwa: Former Governor’s Wife, Florence Ajimobi Sends Strong Message To Parents On Educating The Boy-Child About Consent
The rape and murder of 2-year-old University Of Benin Student, UNIBEN undergraduate, Uwa Vera Omozuwa, has angered every right-thinking person as they continue to call for justice for Uwa.
In reaction to the brutal murder of the innocent student, wife of former Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi called for justice on the perpetrators, adding that Uwa didn’t deserve to be treated in such a humane manner.
The mother of four then admonished all parents to teach their sons the core values of respect, consent, and kindness. She added that parents must start their boy-child that they aren’t entitled to a woman’s body and that a woman is a whole entity, not a weak entity created just for men’s pleasures.

“Recently, a young girl, Uwaila was raped and killed in Benin, Edo state. Uwa didn’t deserve to be treated in such inhumane manner. Justice must be served and the perpetrators will be brought to book.
Today, I admonish all parents to teach their sons the core values of respect, consent and kindness. It is our duty to make our country a safe haven for our girls and women.
It’s time we stop being silent about sex education. We must educate our sons on consent, tell them they aren’t entitled to a woman’s body, tell them that ‘no’ means ‘no’. Make them understand that a woman is a whole entity, not a weak entity created just for men’s pleasures.”
