President Buhari Approves Free Health Insurance For Corp Members
President Buhari has approved the enrolment of members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the National Health Insurance Scheme. This was disclosed on Monday by Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier-General Shuaibu Ibrahim during a briefing in Abuja, the nation’s capital on Monday, November 9.
Ibrahim said the scheme has finalised plans with the NHIS in line with the presidential directive. The NYSC DG noted that with over 300,000 corps members mobilised nationwide per annum, the scheme remains a solid ground to breed future leaders and“drivers of national unity and development”.

He further said that NYSC will now be footing the medical bills of the corps members by expending huge resources on their critical health needs.
“I wish to use this opportunity to again express our gratitude to the security agencies and other stakeholders for their support.
Furthermore, the scheme has concluded arrangement with the NHIS for the enrolment of corps members into the NHIS in line with a presidential directive.
We have also expended huge resources on critical health needs of corps members, including footing of medical bills.”
Ibrahim said.
