COVID-19 Second Wave: Lagos State Announces All Private And Public Schools Remain Closed Till Further Notice
The Lagos State Government has announced that private and public primary and secondary schools remain closed in the state. The Head, Public Affairs, Lagos State Ministry of Education, Mr Kayode Abayomi, made this known on Sunday.
Mr Abayomi, according to a report by PUNCH, explained that schools in the state are not reopening on Monday, January 4, 2021, as earlier announced.
According to him, the second wave of COVID-19 would be a major determinant for the reopening of schools in the state. He added that a new date for schools to resume in the state would be announced soon.

“Please, recall that the Ministry of Education earlier announced 4th of January as resumption date for the second term 2020/2021 academic session, but this has since been overtaken by the turn of events due to the recent waves of Covid-19 pandemic.
“As a result of the spike in Coronavirus pandemic, Mr. Governor announced the indefinite closure of all schools. To this end, kindly be informed that a new date of resumption will be announced as soon as possible.”
