‘I Can’t Date Anyone Below My Tax Bracket Anymore’ -Anita Brows, Ex Wife Of Actor Emmanuel Ikubese Tells Why | WATCH
Anita Adetoye, better known as Anita Brows, has stated that she can no longer date someone below her tax bracket.
The makeup artist and the ex-wife of actor Emmanuel Ikubese (Former Mr. Nigeria) stated this in a podcast with media personality, Stephanie Coker.
She disclosed how she once dated a man who she thought was within her age bracket, but it was all facade.
Speaking further, Anita opined that most Nigerian men target women who appear to be doing well for themselves, that is, successful women.
She went on to explain that a lot of Nigerian men know how to ”pad things up” so well that a woman can get into a relationship with them and then fall in love after becoming involved with them.
She said,
“Being a Nigerian, I have learnt that a lot of men go after women that look like they are doing well and her making more. Men aspire to be with women like that, even though they are doing well themselves. Nigerian men know how to package themselves to make you fall for them.”
According to her, love alone was not enough reason to enter a relationship. She said:
“You can’t really use love to enter a relationship. I guess I am speaking from experience.”
While addressing a question on whether she can date a guy below her tax bracket, she responded;
“Anything below, I can’t really do that anymore. I feel like I have dated someone because they were levelling up in their life but it was just facade. Yea, I cannot.”
Many believed that Anita was hinting at the cause of her marital break-up.
Barely one year after a societal wedding, the marriage of Emmanuel Ikubese and Anita hit the rock. Before their wedding, the couple was dropping bits and pieces about their love story.
However, things didn’t last, as their marriage went sour within a year. The couple had unfollowed each other on Instagram, and had deleted their wedding pictures.
Often when a celebrity couple sparks break-up rumour, unfollowing each other on social media platforms is sometimes used as indices to confirm the report.
However, some celebrity couples used that to create public stunts, but their wedding pictures’ deletion on the photo sharing app sparked reactions from fans.
