‘I Still Cry’ -Davido Speaks On Son, Ifeanyi’s Tragic Death As He Reveals His Source Of Strength
David Adeleke better known as Davido has spoken out on the aftermath of his son, Ifeanyi’s tragic death.
In an interview with Vanguard newspaper, the award-winning artist revealed that he still cries every morning whenever he thinks of Ifeanyi.
He noted how many expected his latest album, ‘Timeless’ to have a sad theme because of the loss of his son, but he opted for “bangers”.
On his source of strength in the midst of it all, the Afrobeat singer stated that he has to be strong for Ifeanyi’s mother, Chioma Rowland, who is now his wife.
He added that the love he receives from people also keeps him going and he believes his son and his late mother are dancing to his songs in heaven.
“I miss him every day, there are tears coming out of my eyes every morning, you don’t have to see it.
I look at myself in the mirror and I said apart from it just being about me, I know how many people have me. I know how many people are depending on me.
My son up there is looking down at me. Apart from me being strong for his mom, which is my primary responsibility. I have to be strong for the world.”

Weeks back, Davido had spoken out for the first time about losing his son and loved ones. During his media rounds for his latest album, Timeless, the superstar revealed that LCND, a song from his album, was dedicated to his lost loved ones.
According to him, losing his mother at 10, his bodyguard, and his best friend within the space of two years, and then his son was too much for him to bear.
Though they might be gone, the singer stated that he still feels them around him and would always be with him. They were the inspiration behind his song, LCND.
Also, in a touching interview with CNN, Davido broke down in tears as he spoke about his son’s untimely death.

He revealed that grieving the loss of his son had some impact on his album. According to him, he had finished the album before the tragic loss, which made him take a step back.
“Before my son passed, we had finished the album. But it was a tragic situation, and I had to calm myself down and take a step back.”
He further stated that he and his wife didn’t deserve that.
