Actor, Yul Edochie’s First Wife, May Reportedly Begins Divorce Proceedings Against Him, Her Elder Sister Speaks | Details
May Edochie, the first wife of Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has reportedly initiated the process of getting a divorce from her estranged husband.
It was gathered that the businesswoman and her legal representative went to court on Monday, July 10, to file a petition to end their 18-year-long marriage.
The court reportedly gave her full custody of her children as well as their family house.
However, there are reports suggesting that Yul has been avoiding being served the legal documents.
In midst of the rumors of her divorce, May Edochie’s older sister consoled her and her family while pleading with God to give her sister strength.
Sharing on Instagram, she wrote;
“Our hearts are deeply broken but the good Lord will heal us completely. Our little Angel, Kambi is resting in the bosom of the Lord. He will always be in our hearts. My dear sis May, the Lord is our refuge and strength.
He will continue to give you a renewed sense of strength and courage. Thank you all so much for your prayers, love, and support. You are truly appreciated. May the Almighty God continue to protect and bless you all.”
It’s no secret that the couple have been at loggerheads since the actor publicly announced his marriage to his colleague, Judy Austin, in April 2022 and welcomed a son with her.
At the time, May expressed her strong disagreement with Yul’s decision to enter into a polygamous marriage, emphasizing that no one should be forced to accept it.

She acknowledged that certain religions and traditions permit polygamy, and while she respects those beliefs, she personally refuses to conform to a practice that contradicts her own faith and family values.
She also made it clear that she does not wish to be coerced or pressured into accepting a lifestyle that goes against her principles.
It appears that May, a mother of four who recently experienced the tragic loss of her first son, is finally set to walk away from their marriage.
This report comes shortly after May broke her silence for the first time since the passing of their son, Kambilichukwu, who sadly died on March 29.
