Actress, Kemi Afolabi Gets Emotional As She Reflects On Daughter’s Birth: ‘… Had You In My 30s When I Thought I Wouldn’t Be Able To Have My Own Child’
Nigerian actress, Kemi Afolabi is reminiscing on her daughter’s birth ahead of her birthday which will be coming up in a few days.
Taking to her Instagram page, the Yoruba movie star revealed that she had her child in her late 30s when she thought she wouldn’t ever have a child of her own.
Expressing gratitude to her creator, she hailed Him for being awesome. Kemi added that she might have gotten many things wrong in her life, but her daughter is the only thing she got right.
The mother of one described her mini-me as a dream come true.
Sharing pictures of the girl who will be turning a teenager in a few days, excited Kemi wrote:
“See who is turning a TEEN in a few days! Happy birthday in advance Morenikeji Adunni Okomi.
Got a couple of things wrong in my life! You’re one thing I got right, you’re a dream come true and I am forever thankful to Allah.
Had you well above thirty years when I doubted I would ever have my baby because I have never been pregnant prior to Dara’s. God is awesome. Alhamdulillah
Happy new month beautiful people. I pray y’all will not struggle in vain in the month of August.”
Last year, as she battled Lupus, Kemi sought help on behalf of her daughter who was in Nigeria. The single mum who had been receiving special treatment in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, returned to social media with a video of herself looking fit and healthy.
Kemi Afolabi shared a caption on social media seeking assistance from Nigerians in the United States who would travel down to the country.
The actress had sought help to send gifts for her daughter, who was resuming school.
She wrote:
“Anyone in Maryland USA leaving for Nigeria this weekend or max next week? Help me take something to my daughter for school Edakun. Thank you in advance.”
