Dark Day For Nollywood As They Mourn Colleague And Dad-Of-Three, Junior Pope
Nollywood actors have flooded their Instagram pages to mourn the untimely death of their colleague, Junior Pope Odonwodo.
Yesterday, 10th of April, the news broke that the proud dad of three boys had passed away after drowning.
The talented movie star was said to have drowned while returning from a movie location with his colleagues in a boat when they fell into the Anam River in Anambra State.
According to reports, their bodies were recovered. As at that yesterday, it was reported that the Nollywood entertainer was taken to the Water Shrine for rituals and in one of the videos that made rounds online, he was seen still struggling for his life.
According to reports, the actor who had returned to life, was said to have been rejected at the mortuary as the attendant said he was still alive.
Actress, Uche Nnanna also confirmed the news as she stated that what God cannot do doesn’t exist and called for prayers for him as she revealed that he was still alive.
However, hours later, he was confirmed death. Nollywood producer, Stanley made the news known on his Instagram Live as he noted how they did their possible best to ensure he lived. He said:
“He’s confirmed dead. It’s well. We have tried all we could.”
Taking to his Instagram story, he reiterated that the movie star is finally gone:
“Jnr Pope is gone finally”.

Before his death, the actor had shared a video of himself on a boat, praying frantically to arrive at their destination safely.
Taking to their Instagram pages, the likes of Lizzy Gold, Regina Chukwu, Susan Peters, Foluke Daramola, Mofe Duncan, Mike Ezurounye, Uche Ogbodo, Yvonne Jegede, Doris Ogala and more mourned him.
