BBNaija Maria Chike On Her Postpartum Struggles: ‘My Family Thought I Was Mentally Not Okay Because I Didn’t Allow Anyone Carry My Baby’
Reality star mum, Maria Chike Benjamin has opened up on her postpartum struggles.
The Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eyes housemate in a recent episode of her Mums Next Door podcast, revealed that her family thought she was mentally not okay.
According to the 32-year-old momma of one, she didn’t allow anyone carry her baby and at some point, she was irritating everyone. She was quoted:
“I had so much help but I didn’t allow anyone carry my baby, and at some point, I was irritating everyone. My family thought I was mentally not okay.”
In October, Maria had welcomed her first child, a baby boy. She made this known with an heartwarming photo of her, her boyfriend and their son, as she spoke of how her precious baby boy had already begun to change her life in profound ways.

Sharing her experience as a first-time mum, the reality star lamented over breastfeeding. She advised her fans to fear Igbo boys as they can eat for Africa.
She also detailed her pregnancy struggles, revealing that she dealt with Mummy’s brain.
In February, 2024, it was alleged that Maria and her baby daddy had tied the knot. She fueled the rumors when she showed off a ring on her wedding finger in a picture that she shared on social media.
