World Mental Health Day: First Lady, Remi Tinubu Addresses Ways Nigerians Can Prioritise Their Mental Health
First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu has called on Nigerians to commit to improving mental health awareness.
In a message commemorating World Mental Health Day, the senator encouraged individuals to seek medical help and counselling early.
This year’s theme is: “It’s time to prioritise mental health in the workplace.”
Speaking on the subject matter, Mrs Tinubu noted that emotions bottled up is the beginning of mental health issues. She then advised that anyone going through one challenge or the other should speak out about it.
She said:
“Today I join the rest of the world to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Day.
“This year’s theme ‘It’s Time to Prioritize Mental Health in the Workplace’ is timely especially in times like this when most people feel dissatisfied at the workplace for several reasons, that could affect one’s mental wellbeing.
“Emotions bottled up is the beginning of mental health issues and challenges that confront individuals.

“With love and support, mental health issues will be drastically reduced within and outside the workplace.
