Hookup And Rituals | Ogun Police Writes To Parents On How To Prioritise Their Daughters’ Safety
The Ogun State Police Command has urged parents to prioritise the safety of their daughters as a high number of girls on hookup are being slaughtered for rituals.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Omolola Odutola, gave the advice in a statement posted on her X.com handle on Thursday. SP Odutola further urged parents to advise their daughters against following strangers.
This comes a day after she revealed that that many cases of missing young women and girls killed for ritual purposes are connected to hookup culture sweeping across the country (Read Here).
“Parents! This message is for your attention. Your daughters need your support. Advise them against following strangers,”
she wrote.
Reacting to the news, a concerned Nigerian wrote:
“Some victims did not go for hookup but were kidnapped in the cab/bus they entered, if stories of survivors are true. Others went for advertised job interviews, like that girl in Uyo.
So tell the ritualists to stop because you will leave no stone unturned to ensure they are caught and charged. Roll out enlightenment jingles on radio, etc. against ritual killing and emphasize that it does not work. If it did, why aren’t they among the richest people in the world?”
Another, Femi Anthony wrote:
“Ma’am you are advising the wrong sets of parents because they are equally the ones encouraging them to go for hookups, if I start giving instances that I am aware off you will think I am reacting a movie script, in my area girls as young as 12 goes out of their home by 9pm to nearby clubs for heaven knows what probably night coaching or night school People say these rituals are not real then why the constant demand for human blood and money? The worst part of it is that people know the ritualists, the babalawos, etc but as they always say let’s settle the case itubi nubi in mama rainbows voice.”
