Nigerian Doctor Sounds Note Of Caution To Parents As She Narrates The Heartbreaking Story Of How A Mum Tragically Lost Her Toddler
A Nigerian medical doctor, Christabel Akinola, is sounding a note of caution to all parents and guardians following a tragic incident she experienced at the hospital.
In a post shared online, the nutrition expert narrated the heartbreaking story of how a mum found her toddler dead after the little girl put a charger connected to power, in her mouth.
According to Ms Akinola, the bereaved mum had left her daughter in the living room to watch her favourite TV while she went to tidy up the kitchen.
When she returned to the living room, she couldn’t find her daughter. She searched around and after a thorough search, she later found the girl lying on the ground, hidden by the bed, with the charging pin in her mouth while the charger head was plugged into the socket.
The doctor stated that the baby was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.
At the end of the story, she wrote to parents and guardians:
“Don’t send your toddlers to retrieve your plugged-in phone or other devices. Always buy original chargers and if you notice any exposed or damaged parts, don’t cover them with tape. Dispose of them immediately, especially if you have children.
Believing that nothing will happen or it can never happen to you is one of the most dangerous mistakes to make.
My heart breaks for the poor mother. 💔 Anyone that has children stay or visit them occasionally should be aware of this. If you are not Charging something, UNPLUG IMMEDIATELY. Share to your Friends and Family.”
