Why Kenyan Gospel Artiste Is Appealing To First Wife To Return Home Amid Marital Struggles After Taking A Second Wife
A popular Kenyan gospel singer, Karangu Muraya has publicly appealed to his first wife, Triza Njeri, to return to their home, following months of alleged marital struggles after he married a second wife.
Muraya, who introduced his second wife in a Facebook post on January 11, 2025, made the heartfelt plea in a Facebook post on Monday, February 17, as well as during a live TikTok session where he was joined by two friends.
His plea came after Triza shared her emotional struggles, revealing that their marriage had been facing challenges for over a year.
The mother of three on Friday, February 14, during Valentine’s Day, went live on TikTok, revealing she was not okay.
She broke down, revealing she was depressed and even went to the hospital accusing her husband of causing her pain. She detailed her suffering after Karangu married a second wife, Carol Kim.
Triza revealed she was no longer married to Karangu but was in the marriage for the sake of the kids.
She started:
“There is a lot that I have concealed and kept to myself. There are a lot of things that I have kept to myself that have made me think lesser of myself.
There are a lot of things that I have gone through but for now, I have decided that it will be just me and my children on this journey.
I also want to clarify this and I will not mention names. I left my marriage a year ago. I am not in a marriage. It might seem like I am in a marriage but I am only there for the sake of my children.”
She continued:
“It has been just me and my children. He has been coming to greet his children and then leave. We are not together in marriage as of now.
Nobody should address me as someone’s wife, I am not anybody’s wife currently. Right now address me as the mother of either Muraya, Victor or Essy, understand that well.”
Speaking directly to Triza, the gospel singer asked her to reconsider leaving their marriage for the sake of their children. He said:
“Mama Muraya, I am pleading with you and I am speaking to you, my wife, the wife of my youth. I plead with you, please do not leave your home and go out there to be taken in round in circles in bedsitters. Please come back home.”
Mr Muraya took time to remind Triza of the life they built together, insisting that their home belongs to her just as much as it does to him.
“I plead with you, please do not leave your home and go out there to be taken around in circles in bedsitters. Please come back home. We have worked together to get this wealth and even built our home together. You know that that is your home. You know that I love you,”
he pleaded.
Karangu also addressed claims that netizens had started contributing money for Triza. He stated:
“Continue contributing for my wife. There are many things in my heart, and my part of the story will eventually emerge, but for now, give me peace. Let my wife come back home for the sake of our children. And to those still insulting me, please stop.”
He also pleaded with a family friend, one Tata Essy, to convince his wife to retun home.
“Dear Tata Essy, you know you are my friend and friend of my family for many years. I know my Triza Mamake Muraya is in the safe hand with you.
My sister, please talk to her, let her come back, me and our children’s we need her. Please hear my request. God of marriage, please restore mine.”
