Sugabelly Challenges The Patriarchal Status Quo In Fresh Controversy On Twitter

Sugabelly became a national sensation few years back when she openly alleged a detailed and harrowing rape experience she endured for years at the hands of a young man from the famous Audu family in Kogi state.

The details of the abuse were explicit and caused many to sympathise with and demand justice for her, but it earned her just as many enemies, who derided and challenged the worthiness of her claims.
The witty lady as can be observed from her Twitter posts went mum for a long time on the platform, but she has recently resurfaced and is raising dust again with a new tweet.
According to her,
“children should bear the name of the mother not the father,
and while not necessary for families to have the same name,
when they do, husbands should bear the names of their wives”.

Looks like she doesn’t mind stirring the hornet’s nest or rousing the anger of Nigerian men as the case may be.
