Dad, Pastor Isaac Oyedepo Opens Up On His Past Struggle With Pornography, Sends A Message Of Hope To Those Battling With It
Isaac Oyedepo, son of Living Faith Church’s Bishop David Oyedepo, has opened up about a time in his life when he struggled with pornography and how he overcame it.
In an interview on the latest episode of ‘Confession Box’ hosted by Pastor Leke Adeboye, the married man of God he recalled how it began during a solo trip to an European country.
According to the former youth leader of Living Faith’s Church, it started when he turned on the TV and encountered pornography contents; which he fortunately overcame with God’s help.
The dad of four said he overcame the addiction early because “grace and mercy found me”. However, Isaac noted that his pornography addiction would have stopped earlier than it did if he had someone to tell him how to overcome it.
Pastor Isaac highlighted that many people, including pastors and church members, still face similar struggles and stressed the importance of discussing such issues.
He noted that being anointed and witnessing miracles doesn’t guarantee one’s spiritual integrity.

In his words:
“I struggled with pornography before. I remembered how it started, we travelled to one country and I was meant to be in the room alone, I switched on the TV and that’s it.
“But God brought me out of it very quickly. A lot of people still struggle with it. If anybody who had struggled with it had walked up to me and told me how to come out, maybe I would have come out faster.
“I think people feel they are things we should not talk about. Today, there are some pastors and church members still struggling with it.

“There is this old saying that if it is working it means you are standing right but I found out that it is not always the case. There are times I found out I wasn’t right, but grace and mercy found me.
I think the reason is for the sake of someone who is genuine in the congregation, God can bypass you and meet the person, this is you at a messed up stage but there’s someone who is sincerely crying for a touch from God so he can use…he used a donkey so he can use anybody…My Confession.”
Isaac is the second son of David and Faith Oyedepo. Aside from Isaac, the couple have had three other children, including David, Love, and Joyce.
