Ghanaian Star, Shatta Wale Unapologetically Reveals Why He Neglects His Biological Parents
Popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has opened up on his reason for neglecting his parents.
A few days ago, his mom Elsie Evelyn Avemegah, called him out on social media as she expressed her distress and requested public support.
The 70-year-old woman also spoke about her poor health and need for financial support, stating she hadn’t seen or received help from her son in over ten years.
According to her, she feels ignored by her successful son, who is oblivious of her living condition and well-being.
She also claimed that she is currently under the care of her sister and niece, Sharita Aheteku, due to health difficulties.
She appealed to the public for financial support, saying:
“My name is Elsie Evelyn Avemegah. I am the biological mother of Shatta Wale. I haven’t spoken with my son for about 10 or more years now. He doesn’t know where I live and what I eat but now my health is dropping and I seriously need help.”
Reacting to his mother’s claims, Shatta defended himself as he accused his parents of being responsible for his failure to take care of them. He stated that his parents’ neglect when he was young made him a monster today.
The 39-year-old added that he had provided for his mother, including renting an estate and buying cars, but she didn’t show appreciation.
He also shared his own struggles, revealing he had experienced homelessness and hardship in the past.
In his words:
“When you born and take care of them anyhow you can before your children turn into monsters. No one ever apologized for making me this way.
“When I see people talking about my mother, I see them as people that don’t have sense. I bought my mother four cars and I rented an estate for my mother.
“But you come online to talk nonsense and say stupid things all because when I do good things for the people around me, they don’t really appreciate it.

He discussed how the lack of a strong family unit affected his sense of security and self-identity throughout his formative years.
