Drunk Husband Caught On Camera Holding Knife To Wife’s Throat As She Fights For Her Life

The picture above captures the horrifying moment a terrified wife had to fight off a husband threatening to kill her as he held a knife to her throat.

In the shocking attack, abusive drunk Glenn Mills charged towards his wife Susan, grabbed her around the neck and threatened her with a knife. A terrified Susan had to fight for her life in the back garden of her home as her crazed partner launched the attack. Vile Mills had attacked his wife earlier that month and was been banned from their flat in Margate, Kent. But the 48-year-old came back to the home in July after boozing.

The alcoholic approached her with his wife telling him: “Glenn you can’t treat me like this,” but Mills taunted her, saying “Call the police”.

She sprinted into their garden, screaming for help from neighbours to call 999. Prosecutor Dominic Connolly said she then saw Mills emerge carrying a large kitchen knife.

He grabbed her around the neck and shouted: “If I am going down then I am going down for something worthwhile!”

Mr Connolly said: “He then put the knife to her throat and then her stomach as she pleaded: “Please don’t kill…please someone help!”

“She said that she thought she was going to die but managed to get the knife off him and threw it over a fence. She then ran into her daughter’s bedroom and carried her to a neighbour’s house and called the police.”

The violent attack was seen by a neighbour, who saw Susan being held in a headlock. The court heard how the neighbour also saw her husband making stabbing movements towards her face and neck.

They said Susan “looked absolutely terrified” and took the photos on their mobile phone before calling for help. She managed to escape to the neighbour’s home, while Mills followed her, pleading with her to not tell the police of his attack. Police arrived within minutes and found Mills sitting on the toilet and “extremely drunk”.

The court heard how Mills had a previous conviction in October 2012 for battery on his wife when he fractured her fingers, telling her later: “I wish that I had killed you.”

Canterbury Crown Court heard that the couple had argued over the parentage of their child. The drunk was originally charged with attempted murder but on the day of his trial he pleaded guilty to assault by beating, affray and making threats to kill. He was jailed for three years and eight months.

Oliver Saxby, defending, said: “The backdrop of these offences is no doubt a tendency to drink too much alcohol and an inability to cope with that a propensity towards nasty and violent behaviour.”

Since being remanded in prison the court heard how Mills has taken steps to tackle his alcohol addiction. He has also now started anger management courses.
