Former Teacher Who Abused Boy At 12 Reveals They Are Now Married With 2 Kids

A former teacher, Mary Kay Letourneau, has spoken of her marriage to Vili Fualaau, the pupil she began a relationship with when he was only 12-years-old.

She made international headlines when her liaison with Vili emerged in the late 1990s.

Then aged 34, Letourneau was married with four children when she began an affair with Vili who was a pupil at her secondary school in Seattle.

She was jailed for seven years after refusing to end the affair and conceived Vili’s first child when he was 13.

Letourneau pleaded guilty to child rape and was initially sentenced to six months in jail and three years of sex offenders’ treatment. However, she refused to comply with an order to have no contact with Vili, and was handed a lengthier term for violating a probation order.

The couple conceived a second child before Letourneau was jailed again.

After leaving prison in 2004, Vili, then aged 21, asked a court to revoke the non-contact order and the request was granted.

Letourneau, who is now 53, and Vili, 34, spoke about their marriage with Barbara Walters on ABC News for the first time since their marriage in 2005.

The couple’s daughters Audrey and Georgia are also asked if they know the story of how their parents met.
