Housewife Dies After Eating Egusi Soup Prepared For Husband

A housewife in Delta State reportedly sent herself to an early grave after mistakenly eating the egusi (melon) soup she prepared for her husband. She had allegedly added a supposed love charm, procured from a native doctor, which she was told would make her philandering husband find her attractive and stop neglecting her.

Leadership reports;

The housewife identified as Egwoli (surname withheld) had complained of abandonment – that her husband has not been making love to her since they got married two years ago.

But sources said the housewife, a petty trader, instead of seeking the family’s intervention, allegedly sought the help of native doctor who prepared a charm via egusi soup for thee man to have a charge of heart.

It was reliably gathered that the man had been sleeping with other women outside his home after he complained of an odour from his wife.

On her return from the native doctor’s place on Friday evening, she immediately applied the charm but unfortunately the man was nowhere to be found. She was said to have mistakenly mixed the charm in her own soup not knowing it was poisonous. She ate it, went to bed and died.
