You Won’t Believe Why Mother & Son Tortured Housemaids, 11 & 9, With Pressing Iron In Abia
A mum identified as Agnes Uchendu, and her son, Ikechukwu, have been arrested by police in Abia for allegedly torturing their housemaids; Hope Ajunwa, 11 and Ngozi Ajunwa, 9, with hot pressing iron.
When interrogated by Police, Ikechukwu said the torture was served as discipline for stealing N100.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ezekiel Onyeke, said the suspects were arrested based on a petition by the International Federation of Women Lawyers, Abia State Chapter, led by one Florence Igwe.
He said, “Upon the receipt of the petition, operatives proceeded to the address and arrested both suspects and rescued the victims, who were covered with injuries which were inflicted on them by the suspects with a hot pressing iron. One of the victims, Ajunwa, also had injuries in the sole of her foot.”
He said the victims had been admitted to the Nigeria Police Clinic Umuahia, adding that investigation is still ongoing and the suspects would be arraigned soon.
