See What A Husband Did To His Wife For Ending Their Marriage

For ending their marriage, Susan Barron was strangled and stabbed 24 times by her husband John Barron.

The Chronicle reports:

John Barron first tried to strangle Susan Barron in their bed then launched a prolonged attack downstairs after arming himself with two kitchen knives. He repeatedly plunged a blade into his wife’s neck, abdomen, arms and legs as her terrified son watched in horror and begged him to stop, a court heard.

And even when police turned up at their home in Washington, Barron continued knifing Susan in front of officers. Susan had 24 stab wounds to her abdomen, neck, arms and legs and needed emergency surgery to save her life.

On that fateful day Barron had been stopped by a PCSO around 7.45pm on November 25 last year. He tried to run away then swallowed a haul of drugs he was in possession of. He was arrested and became aggressive and was taken to hospital for assessment before being discharged and taken home by police around 10.30pm

Barron said he had taken 100 valium tablets and had no memory of the attack. Susan told in a statement to the court how the attack has had a devastating impact on her and her son, David Quinn.

She said: “I honestly thought I was going to die.
“This has had a profound effect on me and my son.
“I have the support of friends and family but when I’m alone I reflect on how I could easily have been killed.
“I’ve been unable to return home and had to be re-housed, which has brought added stress.
“I’m terrified my attacker finds out where I’m living and I will be looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life thinking I’m going to come across him.
“I’ve watched my son go from being an outgoing young man to a quite subdued person since this and as a direct result he is receiving treatment from mental health professionals.
“As a mother I find this very difficult to cope with and I only hope the passage of time means he can get back to his old self.”

David said: “When my mother was attacked I have never seen anything so brutal in my life.

“I was very concerned for her safety but thought if I intervened I would also be attacked. I’ve had a sickening feeling of guilt ever since.”

Barron, of Avon Terrace, Columbia, Washington, admitted attempted murder and was jailed for 15 years with an extended licence until 2035. He was also given an indefinite restraining order to keep him away from Susan and David.
