Fancy Wearing A Pendant Or Bracelet Made From Breast Milk? Meet The Woman Who Makes Them
Knowing a lot of mothers love to have mementos of their baby’s childhood, a mum from Adelaide has taken jewellery making to another level by making bracelets, pendants and lots more out of placenta and breast milk.
The Daily Mail reports:
Midwife Amy McGlade, 29, the mother of three told Daily Mail Australia.
‘I know how important these keepsakes are to mums, I see them every day at work, from the precious first drops of milk to the baby’s chord stump. I knew many other mums out there feel the same way as I do and keep the stuff that I craft from so I create something beautiful from them.’
Ms McGlade creates a variety of unique and eco-friendly pieces, including breast milk gems and placenta gems set upon rings, beads, bracelets, pendants, earrings and pearls.
She also offers keepsake art, where women who have lost their babies can have ashes set into the piece.
The feedback from Ms McGlade’s clients has been overwhelmingly positive, with many women becoming more impressed once they actually lay eyes on the pieces.
