See How Mum Of Two Rescued Toddler Locked In A Car
A mother of two in Kansas Sarah Oropeza has shared the terrifying moment she left work to rescue a two-year-old girl that had been left locked in a car with the windows up by her uncle and aunt.
The Daily Mail reports:
Sarah Oropeza, the manager of the Famous Footwear in Merriam, was finishing off a customer sale on Saturday when a co-worker ran into the store screaming for help saying she had just found a little girl in a car.
‘The windows were totally rolled up, all the doors were locked. She was covered in sweat,’ Oropeza told KCTV 5. ‘When I looked in the back window, she was covered in sweat. She had pulled her hair back and sweat was just dripping. Oropeza desperately tried to break into the car, but couldn’t.
A woman then ran over with a screwdriver she had found in her trunk, however the window would not crack using the screwdriver. Oropeza was then handed a tire iron and began smashing the window with that, however even the iron would not break through.
‘I was just praying, ”Break the window”. She is going to die,’ Oropeza said. Finally, the glass cracked and then another women came up and threw a truck hitch at the window, shattering it.
Oropeza and a group of other women then pulled the two-year-old girl from the hot car. Her shoes were wet, her socks were wet. She was so drenched in sweat. I just started crying,” Oropeza said.
An ambulance arrived at the scene to attend to the child. A police officer went to buy diapers because there were no diaper bag in the car, according to CBS News.
The girl was deemed to be fine and was later picked up by her godmother. A couple believed to be the child’s aunt and uncle eventually came looking for her and were charged with endangerment.
They are said to have been in a cellphone shop while the girl was in the car. ‘They showed no emotion at all, whatsoever,’ Oropeza said. ‘The only question they had for police was if insurance was going to pay to cover the window that we broke.’
Thanks to Sarah Oropeza, we need more people like in our society

Life saver. Thank God for Sarah Oropeza.
May bless that woman that rescued the little girl.
So after all their negligence all the aunt and uncle could say is if insurance will fix their stupid Window?
Insurance????? Really??? Well, the kid doesn’t belong to them so why will they care? They should be tied and left in a scourging sun for a whole day before proceeding to jail. IDIOTS!!!
Did I just read about insurance? People are damn mean! What impudence? How can some1 even think of a car glass when a human life was involve? Its really pathetic. Thank God for the child’s life.
Thank God she was found on time see how bad I’m feeling reading this
