How Family Allowed Baby Boy Die In Their Car
An 11 months-old baby boy died after he was forgotten in a hot car by his family. According to Daily Record; Jaxon Taylor, aged 11 months was left inside the vehicle for more than two hours as temperatures reached 78C on Saturday.
The boy’s family including his grandparents, aunt and another grandchild returned home from church in Georgia around 3pm, CNN reported. No one remembered to bring Jaxon inside the house in Chickamauga, from the Toyota SUV. The family only realised the devastating mistake when the baby’s mother, Mandie Hendershot, who works overnight as a nurse, woke at 5.30pm and asked for her son.
“It appears that there were other things on their mind,” Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson Wilson told CNN. There was a lack of communication within the three adults. They assumed that one of the others had brought in the child and laid him down. They didn’t communicate who would get the child.”
Jaxon’s mother attempted CPR and the baby was rushed to the hospital where she works but he was declared dead. Heartbroken Mandie posted pictures of her fiancé and Jaxon, their only child and messages on her Facebook page since the tragedy.
She wrote: “My fiancées family has traveled from out of town to support and comfort us, to force us to eat, drink and move when we would lay in bed and cry. My fiancée and I had to leave a restaurant in tears last night when the table next to us had a little girl celebrating her first birthday.”
The family is asking for donations on a GoFundMe page as Hendershot writes she and her fiancé are devastated by the incident and are unsure when they can return to work.
An autopsy is being conducted, and Walker County Sheriff, Steve Wilson says the death appears accidental but an investigation is ongoing and charges are possible.
Awwwwww it’s a pity. Such a cutie oh God. I feel their pain.
Oh so sad.But what’s with people forgetting babies?
Jesus! What’s happening? Why are parents just forgetting their kids anywhere they like? Now this innocent child had to pay for adult stupidity.
What a cute boy!! May his soul RIP.
Too bad. I noted the lack of communication aspect. It’s important to perform a certain task including getting a baby out of a car instead of assuming someone else would. Someone has to do a job that one thinks somebody should do or else no one would because everyone thought it’s everybody’s job. Condolences.
Omg! White people too dey behaves like crazy people every time. If na najia, the first tins to do when u get down from your car is my baby. Kai! May the little angel RIP. #shocking#.
Very unfortunate, no one can take care of your child better than you. RIP poor child!

What is wrong with people lately???? This issue of forgetting or abandoning a child in a car is becoming a norm these days. How big is a car that someone wouldn’t notice a child? Are you kidding me?? A life size human not a barbie doll, really??
